Staff Exchanges

Academic and administrative staff with permanent or temporary employment contracts can apply for a mobility period to another INVEST university. The alliance also actively offers exchange opportunities to the staff of other INVEST universities.

Each INVEST partner university will inform its staff about internal application times and procedures. The mobility periods can often be partly funded by Erasmus+, and Erasmus+ grant is applied at the staff member’s own university. Other options than Erasmus+ funding may also be available.
After internal selection, the staff member and/or International Office of the sending university will contact the partner university to discuss the feasibility, details and arrangements of the visit. It is recommended to start planning staff exchanges several months before the intended visit. Erasmus+ staff exchanges can be either a) teaching abroad or b) staff training abroad. A virtual period can always be combined with the physical mobility period.

Teaching abroad
-    Duration 2 days to 2 months, excluding travel time
-    Number of teaching hours is the minimum of 8 hours/week. If the teacher mobility is combined with staff mobility for training, 4 hours of teaching/week is required.
-    Target groups can be either students or staff at the partner university.
-    Teaching abroad should be planned to fit the receiving university’s ongoing courses, for example, INVEST specializations. It may also be training aimed at developing the receiving university on a jointly agreed topic.
-    A mobility agreement is drawn up in advance to agree on the content and objectives of the visit. The document is signed by the teacher and sending and receiving universities.

Staff training abroad
-    Duration 2 days to 2 months, excluding travel time
-    The main aim of the staff training is professional development. Staff exchange can be for example a study visit, workshop or a job-shadowing period.
-    The mobility can include training, development of one's own organization and exchange of experiences and it may also be a training period developing the staff’s digital skills.
-    A mobility agreement is drawn up in advance to agree on the content and objectives of the visit. The document is signed by the staff member going on exchange and sending and receiving universities.
