INVEST CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE: CAPACITY-BUILDING WEBINARS ARE OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED
On Tuesday, 1st April 2025, the INVEST Centre of Excellence researchers could attend the first capacity-building webinar. This was the first of several sessions of webinars and workshops created to support researchers in their work through the Taskforce on Funding Opportunities (TFO).
A webinar to analyse the calls’ structure
This first webinar was about “Decyphering Horizon Europe calls for proposals”. For one hour, Antoine Wojcik, coordinator of the TFO and European project officer at the Project Support Department at URCA, could deliver the keys to success to the researchers.
Indeed, the aim of this webinar was to provide an understanding of how to read calls for projects. Participants were then provided with comprehensive explanations on the basic structure of Horizon Europe calls for proposals, such as understanding the eligibility, the financial information, and the type of actions required. They are now ready to find and address key information, such as:
- The nature of the funding
- The links to other European policies and long-term objectives
- The technical sides and the technological readiness
- The expected outcomes, methodology and objectives
- The scope of work expected
In addition, with the support of the TFO, the researchers were also recommended to navigate through the Horizon Europe dashboard and the Cordis platform, to help them find previously funded projects, identify other EU-funded consortia and even find relevant partners for future projects.
Next steps
In the following months, two other webinars will be offered to the INVEST Centre of Excellence researchers:
- One on the evaluation of Horizon Europe proposals
- The other on European partnerships in Horizon Europe
They will also be animated by Antoine Wojcik, dates are to be announced.
These webinars are one more step in the practical implementation of the INVEST Centre of Excellence research teams, after they were officially built and launched during the kick-off meeting in March 2025.
