INVEST CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE IN RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT LAUCHED AT UCO
On March 12th, the University of Córdoba (UCO) hosted an informational seminar on the Centre of Excellence in Research and Development (CoE) of the INVEST Alliance. Researchers Rocío Hernández and Ana Andreu led the session, introducing this initiative, which seeks scientific collaboration among European INVEST universities to address key challenges in regional sustainable development.
The seminar outlined INVEST's main objectives, which focus on the water-energy-food nexus, quality of life, and entrepreneurship. Presenters highlighted the CoE’s structure, organized into thematic clusters co-led by different institutions, and its role as a launchpad for European collaborative research projects.
Attendees learned about the various benefits of participating: support in project design, access to shared resources (labs, databases, researcher mobility), finding appropriate partners, thesis supervision, and opportunities for international collaboration. The session concluded with an open invitation to join the INVEST scientific community and contribute to building impactful research networks across Europe. More than 120 registered attendees participated (online and in-person), and around 20 new researchers from UCO were welcomed into the INVEST network.
