Chancellor of the University of Cordoba

Professor of Didactics of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics, he is a member of the research group ‘Didactics of Mathematics. Numerical Thinking", focusing his research activity on the analysis and evaluation of Mathematics Education from an interdisciplinary approach.

He is president of the Campus of International Agri-Food Excellence. He is also president of the Innovation Management Network in the Agri-Food Sector (INNOVAGRO), president of the Sectorial Commission of Management of the Association of Public Universities of Andalusia (AUPA), and delegate of the Presidency of Spanish Universities (CRUE)for Cuba.

In addition, within the Andalusian university system, he has been Director General of Universities and Secretary General of Universities, Research and Technology of the Andalusian Regional Government.

He has been recognised, among others, by the Police Merit Cross, and the “Migue Antonio Ramón Martínez" Order of Merit in the Service for his contributionin the process of founding and consolidating the European Union Section of the National Open and Distance University (UNAD) of Bogota (Colombia).
