INVEST JOINT STAFF TRAINING INITIATIVE: STRENGTHENING INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION AT BICOCCA
From June 3–6, 2025, the University of Milano-Bicocca hosted the INVEST Joint Staff Training Initiative titled INVESTed in Joint Programmes: Opportunities and Challenges in Milan. The event was co-organized with partners from the INVEST European University Alliance: Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne (France) and Karelia University of Applied Sciences (Finland).
This initiative followed a multi-phase structure. The first phase took place in April in Reims, where participants exchanged ideas on promoting the INVEST project among students and university staff. This was followed by two online sessions, the “Fellow Program”, which provided training on pitching ideas and organizing small-scale events. The third phase culminated in Milan, where participants worked in groups to develop dissemination strategies aimed at engaging local university staff with the project.
Bringing together higher education professionals from over eight countries, the event explored both the opportunities and challenges of developing joint programmes. Key topics included credit recognition, legal frameworks, marketing approaches, student engagement, and the wellbeing of both students and staff.
Speakers from University of Milano-Bicocca, Karelia University of Applied Sciences, University of Thessaly, University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne shared insights on designing more flexible, inclusive, and forward-looking programmes. Sessions offered practical tools to support student mobility, foster institutional collaboration and create the community of practice. Special attention was given to the importance of holistic wellbeing and the critical role of effective dissemination in enhancing the visibility and impact of joint initiatives.
The training week featured engaging discussions, interactive workshops, and team-building activities strengthening the INVEST community and contributing to the broader advancement of international higher education.
