GABRIELLA PASI, VICE- RECTOR FOR INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS, LOCAL COORDINATOR, INVEST 

Gabriella Pasi is Professor at the Department of Computer Science, Systems and Communication of the University of Milano-Bicocca, where she is Vice Rector for International Relations.
Within the Department of Computer Science, she leads the research laboratory "Information and Knowledge Representation, Retrieval, and Reasoning (IKR3)." Her research expertise is related to Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing (AI), in particular language modeling and personalization in various application contexts, such as search engines, conversational agents, and disinformation identification in the online digital ecosystem (Web and social media). She he has published more than 300 scientific papers. She has won several international awards (the most recent, in 2023, is the Outstanding Research Contributions Award of the Web Intelligence Consortium), and is responsible for numerous research projects (the more recent two Marie Curie Doctoral Networks). She has been member of the Panel of Experts for Computer Science (PE6) of the ERC, for both Starting and Consolidator Grants. She contributed to define the Bachelor in Artificial Intelligence, a three-year inter-university degree program involving the University of Milan-Bicocca, The University of Milan and the University of Pavia. She is among the four founding members of the ELLIS (European Laboratory for Learning and Intelligent Systems) unit in Milan, of which she is co-director. 
She was the representative of the Ministry of Research (MUR) in the Technical Steering Committee of the Digital Republic initiative (an initiative aimed to increase digital skills in Italy), and she actually serves as Information Guarantor for ANSA, the first Italian news Agency. She is a Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts of Palermo (ANSLA).
